The "Huangdi Bashiyi Nanjing," also known as "The Yellow Emperor's Canon of 81 Difficult Issues" and often referred to simply as the "Nan Jing," is one of the ancient classics of TCM. Completed in the Warring States Period, it was said to be compiled by Qin Yueren (popularly known as Bian Que), a doctor with legendary medical talents at that time. The book, comprised of 81 chapters, seeks to clarify enigmatic statements made in the "Huangdi Neijing" ("The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon") in the format of questions and answers.
The issues discussed in this book cover sphygmology, meridian channels, viscera organs, diseases, acupoints and acupuncture. It enriched and further developed the academic theories of "Huangdi Neijing," and actively influenced and promoted the development of the diagnosis, pathological mechanism, meridian channels and acupuncture methods.
