Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani Wednesday arrived in India at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh to watch a cricket World Cup match between the arch rivals in the northern city of Mohali.

After landing in the northern city of Chandigarh on a Pakistan Air Force aircraft, the 58-year-old Pakistani leader thanked the Indian prime minister for inviting him to see the cricket match, and also to hold talks during dinner after the match.

The Pakistani prime minister is accompanied by his wife Fauzia and was received at the defence airport in Chandigarh by Indian Minister of State for Communication Sachin Pilot and Pakistani High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik among others.

The Indian prime minister will receive Gilani at the stadium in Mohali around 1:45 p.m. local time, some 45 minutes before the match starts.
