講話中，胡錦濤回顧了中國共產黨在過去90年間所取得偉大成就，強調中國共產黨要繼續堅持和完善中國特色社會主義制度，堅持馬克思主義，大力推進馬克思主義中國化﹑時代化﹑大眾化。 |
| Hu said the Party will continue to vigorously ensure and improve the people's well-being, and will intensify efforts to combat corruption. He also vowed that the country will continue reform, opening up to future development, because China's international status as the largest developing country in the world has not changed and development is still the key to solving all the problems in the country. |
胡錦濤表示，中國共產黨會繼續大力保障和改善民生，并深入開展反腐敗斗爭。我國是世界上最大的發展中國家的國際地位沒有變，發展仍然是解決我國所有問題的關鍵，因此我國未來發展必須堅定不移依靠改革開放。 |
| As for the Taiwan issue, Hu noted that the mainland will promote peaceful development of relations across the Taiwan Straits and deepen exchanges and cooperation in all areas. |
談到臺灣問題，胡錦濤強調，中國大陸會繼續推動海峽兩岸的和平發展，全面深化兩岸交流合作，擴大兩岸各界往來。 |
| In his speech, Hu said that the Party will actively, yet prudently, carry out political structural reform and emphasized the absolute leadership of the Party over the army. |

| At the end of the speech, the President stated to the world that the Party will "unswervingly follow the basic state policy of opening up" and contribute to world peace. |
