French President Francois Hollande on Saturday said to unveil Paris decision on how to punish the Syrian regime over the alleged chemical attack by the end of next week.

"I'll await the UN investigating report which will ready in a reasonable delay ... I will have all the elements which allow me to address French people and announce the decision I made (over action against Syria)," the French president said.

Speaking on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the 7th Francophone Games in Nice, southern France, Hollande said expecting the U.S. Congress vote at least on Friday and the disclosure of UN findings on Aug.21 incident by the end of next week.

"At that time, there will be a decision to make even after a possible referral of the United Nations," he added.

The French leader who pushed for a "punitive" act against the Syrian regime, already declared guilty for using the deadly gas, hailed European political support on possible strike on Syria.

"France is no longer isolated. We have progressed and Europe is united to back a solution to condemn the use of the chemical weapons," the president said.

After Saturday's meeting in Vilnius, foreign ministers of 28 EU governments said supporting a "clear" and "strong" response to the alleged use of chemical arms against civilians.

The ministers agreed that the gathered information from a wide variety of sources "seems to indicate strong evidence" of the Syrian government's responsibility. Endi
