Lebanon received Sunday from the Syrian authorities the bodies of four fighters killed in an ambush by government troops in the Syrian town of Tall Kalakh, the National News Agency reported.

The bodies were transferred in four ambulances from the Arida border crossing into northern Lebanon.

The families of the dead said in a statement that their funeral will be held after noon prayers at al-Mansouri Grand Mosque in the Lebanese northern city of Tripoli.

Sources close to Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Miqati said in remarks published in An Nahar Sunday that Syria was going to hand over all the killed Lebanese fighters' bodies, but decided to transfer the bodies in separate rounds pending the results of DNA tests.

It is the second round of such transfer. The Syrian authorities handed over last week the bodies of three Salafist fighters.

Reports said six bodies of Lebanese militants are still in Syria, and it is not clear yet when they will be sent back.

While there is still discrepancy on the number of fighters who infiltrated into Tall Kalakh from Lebanon, media reports have said that several of them sought refuge with Syrian rebels' Free Syrian Army while around three others were arrested by government troops and will be tried in Damascus. Endi
