Gold futures on the COMEX division of the New York Mercantile Exchange rose slightly Wednesday on higher holding by central banks of emerging countries.

The most active gold contract for December delivery rose 4.6 dollars, or 0.27 percent, to settle at 1,728.2 dollars per ounce. Enditem
