Syria's Foreign Ministry charged Friday that the U.S. report of Damascus forces' use of chemical weapons against rebel fighters is "full of lies."

The White House on Thursday concluded in a statement that the Syrian government had used chemical weapons against rebels in a move that signaled deeper U.S. interference in the Syrian conflict.

"Following a deliberative review, our intelligence community assesses that the (President Bashar) al-Assad regime has used chemical weapons, including the nerve agent sarin, on a small scale against the opposition multiple times in the last year," said White House Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes in the statement.

In response, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said Washington's statement is part of its "brazen practices" to justify its policies, adding the U.S. report is based on fabricated information to implicate the Syrian government despite the numerous reports that revealed the rebels' possession of such weapons.

The ministry said the U.S. decision mirrors the country's direct involvement in shedding Syrians' blood and raises "serious" questions about its real intentions behind urging a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
