Armed groups killed Tuesday nine people from two families in Syria's northern province of Aleppo, the state TV said.

The "terrorists" opened fire at the families of two brothers at al-Marjeh district in Aleppo, the TV said, adding that nine members of the two families were killed.

It said the "terrorists" took photos of the dead bodies to later portray the crime as if it was committed by the army.

The circumstances of the massacre could not be obtained immediately.

Meanwhile, the activists' network Local Coordination Committees (LCC) said many people were killed or injured Tuesday due to the government troops' shelling on al-Mayadeen area in the eastern province of Deir al-Zour.

The LCC also said 10 people have been killed in Damascus' suburb of Daraya due to the Syrian troops' bombardment on the area.

Yet, such reports are impossible of being checked independently.

Both Darya and Deir al-Zour are hotspots and strongholds for rebel fighters, who are seeking to destabilize the country in the hope of taking over the power.

Earlier in the day, two mortar shells fired from Daraya struck the vicinity of the information ministry in central Damascus, leaving only material damage.

The clashes in Daraya and the adjacent Kafar Souseh orchards have been raging on since last week, rattling residents in the area and neighboring districts.

The 20-month-old crisis seems to keep gaining momentum with no foreseeable solution, as the opposition remain fragmented.

On Monday, a coalition of the fighting rebels in Aleppo said they refuse any opposition body or coalition from abroad or inside Syria, noting that they have made up their minds and decided to establish an Islamic state in Syria.
