The anti-government "red-shirt" group will certainly hold a gathering on the Thai Constitution Day on December 10 as planned, a "red-shirt" spokesman said on Friday.

"Red-shirt" spokesman Worawut Wichaidit said the "red-shirts" will gather at the Democracy Monument about 5 p.m. local time to hold activities in remembrance of the 8th month of the anti- government rally at the Phan Fa Bridge in Bangkok old city and to mark the 78th year of the constitution on the Constitution Day.

The Phan Fa Bridge was the main venue of the "red-shirt" demonstration in March before it moved to the Ratchaprasong intersection, Bangkok's business zone, which led to the major crackdown on the "red-shirts" that killed 91 people.

The spokesman added that the "red-shirts" will disperse about 8 p.m. local time.

He insisted that the "red-shirts" have the constitutional right of assembly and that it will be the first rally for democracy and that the gathering will be peaceful and lawful.

Although the state of emergency, prohibiting gathering of more than five people, has been in place in Bangkok and surrounding provinces for several months, the "red-shirt" camp and its rival " yellow-shirts" have organized several rallies to protest against various issues.
