Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Saturday described terrorism as a common enemy of Afghanistan and Pakistan and called for stopping violent incidents in both countries.

"Afghanistan and Pakistan are facing terrorist attacks and suffering from the same problem, as we talk here over 60 of our Pakistani brothers were killed in a mosque on Friday while over ten Afghans were also killed on the same day in Afghanistan," Karzai told a two-day seminar held?in Kabul?to commemorate the late Pashtun leader Bacha Khan who favored non-violence struggle.

One of the warring sides is killing civilians in the name of religion while the other side kills in the name of defending democracy, Karzai noted without giving details.

He made the remarks while Pakistani Taliban insurgents by carrying out a suicide attack inside a mosque in Pakistan's Darai Adamkhil area killed some 60 worshipers and injured over 100 others, all civilians on Friday, according to media report.

However, on the same day Friday, a suicide bomber loyal to the Afghan Taliban outfit blew himself up in Afghanistan's northern Faryab province leaving 10 civilians dead and injuring over 30 others.

More than 1,300 civilians, according to Interior Ministry spokesman Zamarai Bashari have been killed in conflicts and Taliban-linked militancy over the past six months in Afghanistan.
