Cameroon has confirmed that a flight with 11 people on board -- six Australians, two French, two Britons and an American -- has been missing since Saturday, media reports said on Sunday.

The reports said the flight was traveling from Cameroon's capital Yaounde to Yangadou in the northwest of Republic of the Congo.

The reports quoted Cameroon's Communications Minister Issa Thiroma Bakary as saying that the aircraft was operated by a Republic of the Congo company, Aero-Service, and chartered by Cam Iron, the Cameroon subsidiary of Australian mining company Sundance Resources.

The 11 people included nine passengers and two crew members, and Cameroon has sent a search team for the missing flight.
