The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) on Friday committed nearly 1.5 million U.S. dollars in funding to support China's new clean coal power development and aviation industry.

USTDA director Leocadia I. Zak signed grant agreements with senior executives of China Power Engineering Consulting Group Corporation(CPECGC) and the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China(CAAC).

With the aim of reducing emissions from China's coal-fired power plants, the USTDA conferred a grant for an 832,877-U.S.-dollar feasibility study that will help the CPECGC design an 800 MW integrated gasification combined cycle power station, Zak said.

The USTDA expanded its commitment to the successful U.S.-China Aviation Cooperation Program by awarding a grant of 664,065 U.S. dollars to CAAC.

"That will help support capacity building in the Chinese aviation market, including more efficient airspace utilization and human resources development," Zak said.
