Kurt Campbell, U.S. assistant secretary of state for Asia and Pacific affairs, is coming to South Korea Tuesday to discuss the free trade deal between the two countries and issues regarding the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said Monday.

In his three-day visit to the country, Campbell will be meeting with foreign ministry officials, including the minister and officials in charge of a free trade pact that awaits legislative approval in both countries, and Wi Sung-lac, Seoul's chief envoy for the six-party talks over the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Campbell's visit to Seoul is part of his tour to Northeast Asian countries, according to the ministry.
