Top Chinese political advisor pledges to further ties with DPRK

Top Chinese political advisor Jia Qinglin said here Friday China was ready to work with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to push forward bilateral friendship.

Jia, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, made the remarks when meeting with a delegation from the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland (DFRF) of the DPRK.

Jia said it was a consistent policy of China to continuously consolidate the China-DPRK good-neighborly friendship of cooperation.

Under a new situation, China was willing to work with the DPRK to carry on and promote the traditional bilateral friendship, based on the spirit of "inheriting the tradition, aiming at the future, being friendly neighbors and enhancing cooperation."

Jia also spoke highly of the relations between the CPPCC and the DFRF, noting the relationship was an important part of the state-to-state relations.

The CPPCC hoped to deepen understanding with the DFRF, in a bid to inject new vigor to the China-DPRK ties.

Kim Wan Su, head of the delegation and also head of the secretariat of the Central Committee of the DFRF, said the DPRK would make joint efforts with China to cement the friendship.

Kim also conveyed DPRK top leader Kim Jong Il's regards to Chinese President Hu Jintao.
