U.S. special envoy on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Stephen Bosworth will discuss his visit to the DPRK with the Chinese officials when he arrives in China Friday, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said Thursday.

Bosworth is scheduled to meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and Vice Minister Wu Dawei, Jiang Yu told a regular news briefing.

"Under current circumstances, all parties should seize the opportunity as the situation on the Korean Peninsular is thawing, demonstrate flexibility and move the Korean nuclear issue back to the track of dialogue," Jiang said.

China was willing to maintain contacts with all parties on reviving the six-party talks, she said.

Bosworth's three-day trip, the first visit to the DPRK by a representative of the Obama administration, is widely expected to concentrate on persuading the DPRK back to the six-party nuclear talks, which involve China, the DPRK, the United States, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Russia and Japan.

Bosworth will also travel to Tokyo and Moscow before heading back to the U.S. next week.
