The first of eight courts-martial related to a U.S. soldier's suicide in Afghanistan last year is scheduled to begin July 24, 2012 at Fort Bragg. Chen died in Afghanistan on Oct. 3, 2011. According to Army investigators, Chen was taunted for his race and physically abused by soldiers in his company. He eventually shot himself in a guard tower at Command Outpost Strong Point Palace in Kandahar Province.
