The head of the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office, Wang Yi, has expressed concern over the condition of the stranded mainland tourists.

Wang Yi said the Chinese mainland hopes the Taiwan authorities take effective measures in the search and rescue effort. He also hopes the tourism departments on both sides stay in close contact, and maintain communication to assist in the rescue effort.
