Iran's nuclear chief, Ali Akbar Salehi, says Tehran has the right to ban UN inspectors from monitoring its disputed nuclear program.

Salehi's comments, come after the UN's nuclear watchdog criticized Iran for refusing entry to its inspectors in June.

Iran says, it has the right to select, their OWN inspectors. But, some western nations, say Iran has banned more than 40 inspectors over the past four years violating a so-called Safeguards Agreement.

The UN agreement, is meant to ensure, it can monitor Iran's nuclear program, without impediments.

The West, suspects Iran's nuclear program is geared towards making weapons. Iran rejects this, saying its program is for peaceful purposes only.
