The Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Gansu Province in western China will enhance cooperation in key projects, advantageous industries, ecological progress, environmental protection and cultural tourism, according to a cooperation framework agreement signed by the two parts in the city of Lanzhou, capital of Gansu, on June 24.
The Ningxia delegation led by Li Jianhua, Secretary of CPC Ningxia Hui Autonomous Regional Committee and Liu Hui, chairperson of the People’s Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, paid a visit to Gansu Province on June 24.
Li pointed out that the agreement would promote the implementation of the “Belt and Road” Initiatives in Gansu and Ningxia and help facilitate westward opening-up. It can also push forward joint infrastructure construction, including railroads, highways and water conservation projects. The agreement also aims to promote industrial upgrading, poverty alleviation and unity of ethnic groups, he added.
The secretary of CPC Gansu Provincial Committee Wang Sanyun said that Ningxia and Gansu have common tasks of shaking off poverty being neighbors along the Yellow River. The cooperative space is immense and the Ningxia and Gansu should enhance cooperation and realize common development, he stressed.
