Chefs at Shanghai's Four Seasons Hotel are busy preparing menus for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve.

The buffet on Christmas Eve at the Café Studio and Lobby Lounge will include live music. Both Chinese and Western cuisine will be included in the menu. Among the recommended choices are Lobster Thermidor, Minced Lamb Mediterranean Skewers, and Rotisserie Baby Piglet. Desserts include traditional delicacies such as Christmas Puddings, Yule Log, Chocolate Mousse and Macerated Fruit Punch.

Staff dressed as Santas will deliver small gifts to each table. The Christmas buffet is half priced for children.

On December 24, 25 and 31, guests who prefer Chinese food can visit the Chinese res-taurant Si Ji Xuan to enjoy a celebratory 10-course set dinner specializing in Cantonese and Shanghainese food.

Shintaro, the Japanese tavern-style restaurant, will offer an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring traditional Japanese sushi. "Our chef has also created a new kind of sushi called 'dragon roll,' which has a unique taste because of its use of macadamia nuts and avocado," said assistant PR manager Zhu Shiwen. For a Western-style dining experience, the Steak House is the place to savor holiday treats starting from a bountiful seafood bar to "surf and turf" as the main, and selections from the dessert table to finish.

With a live band playing and raffle prizes at the moment of countdown to the New Year, it will be midnight madness in the hotel's Lobby Lounge on December 31.

And if you prefer to dine at home, but aren't up to cooking, the hotel also offers home delivery service every evening until January 4. You can either choose turkey or ham together with other dishes. The hotel will also prepare special spa gift packs of organic pampering products (998 yuan or 1,998 yuan) and a celebration hamper of Christmas gifts (1,888 yuan).
