The 12th Beijing International Tourism Festival, co-hosted by Beijing Municipal Government and the National Tourism Bureau, and organized by Beijing Tourism Bureau and the People's Governments of Dongcheng District, Xicheng District and Chaoyang District, is scheduled from September 19th to September 21st, 2010.

Themed as "World City, Beautiful Beijing", this Festival will gather together nearly 2,500 Chinese and overseas performers of 23 delegations from 22 countries and regions to present a fabulous parade performance in splendid attires.

The opening ceremony of the 12th Beijing International Tourism Festival will unveil at Qianmen Pedestrian Street on September 19th. It will be presented via three episodes: 20 models in ancient Chinese clothing and 20 dancers in phoenix costumes illustrate an "Ancient Beijing"; 28 Peking opera performers and 12 sculpture performers demonstrate a "Stylistic Beijing"; an electro-acoustic band together with dozens of models display a "Global Beijing".

Thereafter, a grand parade show is welcoming your appreciation, 20 beat-up cars leading 7 successive square arrays of "Colorful Beijing", "Flashing Beijing", "Fashionable Beijing", "Musical Beijing", "Dancing Beijing" and "Welcome to Beijing".

When the opening ceremony being held in the main venue, three sub-venues will be set up in the Olympic Landscape Avenue, Xidan Square, and SOLANA Lifestyle Shopping Park on September 20th and 21st, in which tourism resources display and tourism service consultation areas will also be reserved.

To provide the local citizens and overseas as well as domestic tourists with a full access to participation in and enjoyment of the wonderful stylistic performances of different countries, the performances of the opening ceremony will be presented in turn in the three sub-venues.

Besides, the beat-up car show at the Olympic Landscape Avenue is expected to draw the tourists' attention, adding an exotic charisma to Beijing.

15 internationally famed beat-up cars from Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Japan and China, such as Rolls-Royces, will gather in Beijing, receiving tourists all day round. The eldest one is almost 90 years old, representing the main themes at various stages during the development history of automobile in the past hundred years.

There will also be Mid-Autumn and National Day painting and calligraphy shows, where dozens of painters and calligraphers will portray lovely and appealing sceneries of Beijing on site.

Beijing Tourism Bureau has successfully held 11 international tourism festivals since the year of 1998.
