Roma falls again, Inter held at home
Adjust font size:

Last season's runner-up AS Roma slumped to its fifth defeat of the Italian Serie A season when it lost 1-3 at new leader Udinese yesterday.

Italy forward Antonio Di Natale struck twice to ratchet up the pressure on Roma coach Luciano Spalletti, who made his name as boss of the Udine club.

Inter Milan is level with Udinese on 17 points from eight games after drawing 0-0 with 10-man Genoa in another drab home display. Napoli is also on 17 after Sebastiano Siviglia's own-goal secured a 1-0 victory at fast-sinking Lazio.

AC Milan is a point behind after Kaka scooped home 10 minutes from time to seal a fortunate 1-0 win at Atalanta, which had troubled a shaky visiting defense.

On Saturday, striker Amauri bagged his third goal in a week to give Juventus a 1-0 win over Torino in a hotly-contested Turin derby.

The victory followed two league defeats on the bounce for Juve and further eased the pressure on coach Claudio Ranieri after last Tuesday's 2-1 Champions League win over Real Madrid.

"In my first derby, to score the winner is a dream. I am happy that Juve have returned to being the real Juve," Amauri told Sky television. "Now we mustn't give it up."

Catania missed the chance to move top when it drew 1-1 at Siena.

Emanuele Calaio put the host in front 15 minutes from time with a powerful header but the Sicilians were quickly level when Giuseppe Mascara converted a penalty after Michele Paolucci was tripped by goalkeeper Gianluca Curci.

Walter Zenga's Catania has 15 points.

Juve is bunched in mid-table on 12 points while Torino has five from eight matches and is one place above the drop zone.
