The United States beat Serbia in a deciding mixed doubles to win
the Hopman Cup final in Perth on Friday.
The US had an easy 1-0 after Jelena Jankovic skipped her singles
against Serena Williams due to a leg injury sustained earlier in
the week before world No. 3 Novak Djokovic helped Serbia level with
a 6-2, 6-7 and 7-6 victory over Mardy Fish.
Then Jankovic returned for the mixed doubles but the US rallied
from 4-1 down in the first set to win 7-6 and 6-2 and clinch their
fifth Hopman Cup title.
