The University of Bath announced on Thursday that 25 Chinese swimmers are to prepare for the upcoming London Olympics at the University for three weeks.

The team will arrive on July 2 and be trained alongside the Bath-based British Olympic swimmers until July 22, when they will depart for London.

According to an announcement on the university's official website, the contract was signed by Glynis Breakwell, vice chancellor of the university, and vice chairman of the China Swimming Association Shang Xiutang.

"China is one of the sports global superpowers and, as such, demand world-leading facilities and services to support their athletes as they prepare for the 2012 Games," said Stephen Baddeley, director of sport at the university.

The university, in the southwest of England, now has more than 1,000 Chinese students, and boasts world-leading swim facilities, including a 50-meter swimming pool, sport science back-up areas for physiology, physiotherapy, ice-baths and saunas, as well as video-analysis capabilities.
