To promote the healthy development of martial arts, the wushu duanwei (Dan) measurement system was launched in Beijing on Friday, attended by Wu Shaozu, former sports minister and now honorary chairman of the International Wushu Federation (IWF), and Yu Zaiqing, deputy sports minister and chairman of the IWF.
To accelerate the standardization of traditional Chinese sport, the management system for martial arts or wushu includes standardized management, tests and operating methods, with the aim of promoting the sport around the world. Gao Xiaojun, chairman of the China Wushu Association, said.
Wushu duanwei badges and training clothes were also launched at the ceremony together with the official website of the Chinese wushu duanwei system.
