The world football governing body FIFA vows to tighten the World Cup security after an English fan managed to enter the team's dressing room following England's 0-0 draw against Algeria on Friday.

"It is totally unacceptable for FIFA that a fan can find his way to the dressing room of any team in any FIFA competition," FIFA spokesman Nicolas Maingot said in a news briefing on Saturday. "Security will be tighten to ensure it will never happen again."

England were booed off following their 0-0 lacklustre draw with Algeria at the Green Point Stadium that leaves their World Cup hopes hanging by a thread.

And one supporter was so angry that he evaded security to make his feelings known to a startled dressing room, where players were getting changed and a number of backroom staff were present, including former skipper David Beckham.

The fan was in room for a few seconds before being led out, but he was allowed to leave the stadium without being arrested.

The Football Association has formally issued their complaint to FIFA, saying that "this is not acceptable and thankfully no serious harm was done."
