French soccer legend Just Fontaine lashed out at the current French strikers, saying he didn't know where their goals would come from.

Fontaine was the star of the French team from 1953-1960 and scored 30 goals in 21 appearances for the national team. He also scored 165 goals in 200 first division matches.

"It's not because of any of the strikers I saw in France-Uruguay match that I'm going to be shaking," wrote Fontaine in his column for La Depeche du Midi, before lashing out at attacking trio Nicolas Anelka, Franck Ribery and Yoann Gourcuff, who all started on Friday.

"I think Raymond Domenech should have taken off Anelka well before. He never left behind one or two of the three centers on crosses, didn't catch a single ball with his head.

"Ribery? One day, we made the stupidity of saying that he was the brains of the team and since then he has believed it. He dribbles past seven players but then the eighth one takes the ball off him.

"Gourcuff? He's lost. He is tired following his season, he is less lively and above all, he doesn't know who to give the ball to, since Anelka plays behind him. I'm not optimistic. I hope they'll prove me a liar. But..." Fontaine said.
