Lazio 4 clear after beating Palermo

Shock leader Lazio moved four points clear at the top of Serie A after a backs-to-the-wall 1-0 win at Palermo yesterday, its fourth away victory in a row.
Defender Andre Dias scored against the run of play when he netted with a superb volley from a free kick after 27 minutes.
"It was a great goal but it's been a very difficult game. I think it was the best goal of my career," the Brazilian, whose side was a relegation candidate last term, told Sky.
Highly-rated Argentine playmaker Javier Pastore missed a good early chance for the hosts and almost scored when Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera struck a clearance against him.
Palermo piled on the pressure again in the second half after Lazio's Giuseppe Biava was dismissed for a second yellow card but Muslera and his defense somehow held out to leave the visitors in wonderland with 22 points from nine games.

On Saturday, Juventus threw the Italian championship wide open by sealing a surprise 2-1 win at AC Milan as evergreen forward Alessandro Del Piero became the club's all-time top Serie A scorer.

Totti and Lecce's Ruben Olivera clashed in the buildup to the second goal and referee Andrea Gervasoni immediately sent the pair off.
