Britain's diving world champion Thomas Daley was confirmed to arrive later at the first Youth Olympic Games despite getting injured recently.

Colin Moynihan, Chairman of the British Olympic Association (BOA), said at a press conference on Sunday that Daley would come on Tuesday despite just suffering a "slight tear" in his triceps on Saturday, when he was forced to withdraw from the European Championships in Hungary.

"It's a matter for Tom's coach to say whether he will compete. But the BOA has an outstanding medical and fitness team here to support him, and then it's for his coach and Tom to decide," said Colin.

Daley, the 16-year-old world 10m platform champion, is regarded as the biggest star among the Youth Olympic athletes aged from 14 to 18. He is scheduled to compete in the three-meter springboard competition on August 22.

The first Youth Olympics opened on Saturday night in Singapore. The young athletes will participate in 26 sports and in a Culture and Education Program (CEP).
