According to an official from the Netherlands Football Association, China and Shandong Luneng club playmaker Zhou Haibin will join Eredivisie powerhouse PSV Eindhoven, www.titan24.com reports.
The Bosman ruling allows professional football players to move freely to another club at the end of their term of contract with their present team, which has paved the way for Chinese footballers to play abroad.
China internationalist Zhou Haibin has reportedly been linked with a move to a club in La Liga. However, it turned out that the PSV Eindhoven Club from Eredivisie was Zhou's real destination.
"It is true that Zhou will transfer to PSV. He has already been registered in the Royal Netherlands Football Association. I can tell you nothing other than to confirm that a player from China joined the PSV club," an assistant to the vice-president of the Netherlands Football Association was quoted as saying.
As a traditional powerhouse, PSV is one of three European Cup winning football clubs in the Netherlands. Korean internationals Park Ji-Sung and Lee Young-Pyo enjoyed considerable success at the club.
