Article denounces Dalai Lama-backed Han Chinese-Tibetan friendship association

A signed article Sunday denounced the so-called "Han Chinese-Tibetan Friendship Association", saying that it was a new trick of the Dalai clique in an attempt to separate China.
The article's author, Yedor, said the real intention of setting up such associations was to undermine China's ethnic unity and to overthrow the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government.
Tracing the association to its source, the author said the idea of the so-called "Han Chinese-Tibetan Friendship Association" was originally proposed by some anti-China activists about 10 years ago in the United States.
The Dalai Lama showed no interest in the idea until last year when he was strongly criticized by overseas Chinese following the March 14 riot in Lhasa (capital of China's Tibet Autonomous Region) and a series of violent activities targeting the torch relay of the Beijing Olympic Games.
In June, 2008, the Dalai Lama urged some anti-China activists in Australia to speed up the establishment of a "Han Chinese-Tibetan Friendship Association" when visiting the country, and voiced his support for the founding of such an association in New York a month later.
In August this year, the Dalai Lama said in Geneva a "Han Chinese-Tibetan Friendship Association" should be set up in all places where there were Han Chinese and Tibetans.
A special work team was set up by the Dalai clique to collude with overseas anti-China activists to set up as many "Han Chinese-Tibetan Friendship Association" as possible in a short period of time, the article said.
Several associations were set up within one year, but they were represented almost entirely by the mainstay of the local "contact offices" of the Dalai Lama and several veteran anti-China activists overseas.
"No matter what names they use, they represent neither Tibetans nor Han people. They represent only themselves," the author said.
At a "Tibet-China Conference" held in a European country in August, some anti-China activists and "pro-Tibet independence" activists claimed that the purpose of establishing the association was to use sympathy and support they attracted and formally cooperate to "defy the suppression of the Communists."
On Dec, 2, a group of anti-China activists in Australia told the visiting Dalai Lama that "the Chinese government is the common enemy of the Tibetans, the Han Chinese, the Uygurs, and the Hui people."
On Dec. 10, a group of the "Han Chinese-Tibetan Friendship Association" members gathered a crowd to create disturbances in front of the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles, proclaiming that "all ethnic groups must unite together to fight against the Communist Party of China."
The article said the Dalai clique was using the association as a accomplice in an attempt to separate China.
Supported by some foreign forces, the Dalai Lama launched an armed rebellion in the 1950s, made harassing attacks in border areas in the 1960s, created several riots in Lhasa in the 1980s and masterminded the March 14 violent crimes last year, the author said.
Those attempts did not obstruct Tibet's development. They only exposed the separatist nature of the Dalai Lama, it said.
Despite repeated failures, the Dalai Lama does not stop his separatist attempt.
By colluding with several anti-China activists, the Dalai Lama tried to create a false impression that he was supported by the Han people and Tibetans all over the world. But such an attempt will be doomed to fail, the author said.
