Vice premier calls for better civil aviation services for Olympics
Adjust font size:

China's civil aviation staff should work harder to ensure security during the Olympics, Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang said on Wednesday during an inspection of Beijing's International Airport.

"Safe and good-quality services will contribute to a successful Olympics and even to China's image," said Zhang after touring the terminals -- including Terminal 3, the world's largest airport terminal which opened this year and the headquarters for Olympic transportation.

Zhang said that hosting a distinctive Games had been a common aspiration of all Chinese and a solemn commitment China made to the world.

He said air and ground logistics could be a significant channel for the world to judge Beijing's Olympic services.

Zhang urged airport employees to always consider security the top priority and to keep in mind the principle of "people first", improve emergency schemes, and reinforce internal coordination.
