Adjust font size:

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Shanghai last night after a visit to the Three Gorges Dam in central China that he called a "memorable experience."

He flew from Hubei Province, where he met Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo and visited the Three Gorges Dam project in Yichang City in the province.

During the Hubei tour, China and Pakistan agreed to boost cooperation on agriculture and water conservancy, with Hubei Province and Pakistan signing four cooperation memorandums concerning hybrid seed, hybrid rapeseed, port engineering and friendly exchanges between Hubei and Pakistan's Sindh Province.

Shanghai is the second and final leg of Zardari's China visit.

Zardari is scheduled to talk to financial institutions, entrepreneurs and scholars on international affairs on financial cooperation between the Pakistani side and Shanghai. Zardari is due to return home tomorrow.

During his visit to the Three Gorges Dam, Zardari witnessed the signing of a cooperation document on hydro-power development between the China Yangtze River Three Gorges Project Development Corporation and the Water and Power Development Authority of Pakistan.
