Chinese acrobatic show kicks off in Nepal

World famous Chinese acrobatic show kicked off Monday in Nepali capital to mark the establishment of Nepal-China diplomatic relations.

The four-day long Chinese acrobatic show being performed on Aug. 16-19 will give six performances. Organizers have expected about 7, 000 visitors to turn up during four days to enjoy world popular Chinese acrobatic show.

The show was co-organized by the World Cultural Net (WCN) (also known as Chinese Information Center) in Nepal together with Chinese Embassy in Nepal.

"Chinese acrobatics has history of 2,000 years since Han Dynasty", informed Zhang Yusheng, head of the Chinese National Acrobatic Troupe, adding that with this performance, China would like to make strong friendship with Nepal.

Nepal-China diplomatic relation was established in 1955.

Addressing the opening session of acrobatic show, Nepali Vice- President Parmanand Jha said, "Nepal and China had a long history of friendship. After the establishment of People's Republic of China, Nepal-China relations deepened. As China's foreign policy is not to interfere other countries internal affairs, our relation has been stable and progressive."

Xi Hui, charge d'affaires of Chinese Embassy in Nepal, also lauded Nepal-China relation, saying that since establishment of diplomatic relations in 1955, no matter how the world changes, China and Nepal always coexist peacefully, treat each other as equals and stand together in times of need.

"Indeed, our bilateral relationship has become a model of good- neighboring cooperation," she said.

The show also aimed to strengthen cultural exchange between two countries.

"Nepali people will be benefited to view this Chinese acrobatic show which is also an important part of Chinese culture and world famous," said Deepak Sarkar, President of WCN.

According to Sarkar, 2010 is a remarkable year to celebrate Nepal-China diplomatic relation and to mark this especial year, various activities were held in Nepal.

A few days ago, Chinese Book Fair and Chinese Film Festival were held in Nepal.
