據新華社報道,周一,中國國防部長梁光烈在北京會晤美國國防部長羅伯特?蓋茨。他們保證開放防衛及海上安全磋商渠道。蓋茨表示:“我們擁有的共同利益和合作的領域很多,那些分歧最好是通過對話和相互協商解決。”梁光烈警告說,美國對臺灣的軍售“損害了中方的核心利益”。他表示:“我們不愿意再次看到這樣的問題發生,也不希望因為美國向臺灣出售武器進一步損害中美兩國兩軍關系。”

中英簽署47億美元大單

據新華社報道,在中國副總理李克強訪英期間,中英雙方于周一簽署了價值47億美元的商貿協議。跟隨李副總理出訪的約有120名中國商界領導人。兩國簽署了15個協議和商貿合同,涵蓋低碳、野生動物保護、深海石油天然氣勘探開發以及金融合作等領域。李副總理和英國副首相尼克?克萊格均出席了簽字儀式。此前,李副總理和克萊格進行了會談,之后他會晤了首相大衛?卡梅隆。繼訪問西班牙和德國之后,英國是李副總理歐洲三國行的最后一站。

公安部醞釀110分類出警

《新京報》消息,公安部正在醞釀將撥打至110的報警事項細分為“緊急”與“非緊急”兩類。在警力有限的條件下,警方將優先處理“緊急”事件。緊急事件指的是搶劫、溺水以及自殺等緊急情況,非緊急事件包括ATM機吞卡等情況。

蘇州驚現人跪狗

據《華西都市報》報道,最近在江蘇省蘇州市,一只寵物狗被一面包車撞死,狗主人逼迫車上兩人向狗下跪一個小時。當時小狗突然從一座樓里沖出,面包車司機躲閃不及撞到。之后有幾個自稱是小狗主人的人從樓里沖出來,要求兩人要么賠償5000元,要么下跪。

They pledged to keep open the channel for defense and maritime security consultations. "There are many areas where we have mutual interests and can work together, those disagreements are best dealt with through dialogue and discussions with one another," Gates said. Liang warned that US arms sale to Taiwan "jeopardizes China's core interests". He said: "We do not want to see such things happen again. We do not want US weapon sales to Taiwan to further damage the relationship between China and the United States and the two nations' armed forces."

China, UK sign US$4.7 bln in deals

China and the UK Monday inked business deals worth US$4.7 billion during Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang's visit, Xinhua reported. Li was accompanied by some 120 Chinese business leaders. The two sides signed 15 agreements and commercial contracts in the presence of Li and British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, covering fields such as low carbon, wildlife protection, deep-sea oil and gas exploration and development, and financial cooperation. Li held talks with Clegg earlier and then he met with Prime Minister David Cameron. The UK is the last leg of Li's European tour, which has already taken him to Spain and Germany.

Police to classify 110 calls

The Ministry of Public Security is preparing to classify calls to the 110 hotline as "emergency" or "non-emergency," Beijing News reported. With a limited number of policemen, 110 will dispatch policemen preferentially to emergency cases, which include robberies, drowning and suicides. Non-emergency cases include a stuck bank card in the ATM.

Owners make men kneel over dead dog

The owners of a dog that was run over and killed by two men in a van made the men kneel down to the dead dog for an hour, probably recently, in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, West China Cosmopolitan Daily reported. The driver of the van was not able to stop in time when the dog rushed out suddenly from a building. Several men claiming to be the dog's owners hurried out and demanded 5,000 yuan in compensation or the kneeling.

Fujifilm begins selling cosmetics

Fujifilm announced yesterday that the ASTALIFT series of skincare will officially hit Chinese stores several months after such products began testing the waters in China through the company's website and online shopping site Taobao in September, China Business News reported. ASLTALIFT is a high-end skincare brand targeted at women in their thirties or older.
