India urges Pakistan to punish those responsible for Mumbai attacks
Adjust font size:

India Tuesday said that it is still not fully satisfied with Pakistan's actions in connection to last November's Mumbai terror attacks and reiterated that Islamabad should not at all delay in punishing the culprits responsible for the massacre.

"I can't say we are fully satisfied with actions taken by Pakistan in connection with Mumbai attacks but no purpose will be served by creating war hysteria. Pakistan must take next consequential steps to ensure perpetrators of Mumbai attacks are brought to justice," said Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Singhe made the statement to the media soon after getting nominated as the Congress' candidate for prime minister's seat in the coming general elections.

Singh also maintained India's official stand that diplomacy should be still given a chance over any war talks to maintain the stability of the South Asian region.

Over 170 people were killed in Mumbai terror attacks on November 26 last year. Ajmal Amir Kasab, the only attacker who was captured alive and currently on trial by an Indian special court, disclosed that the attackers were members of Lashkar-e-Toiba, the Pakistan-based militant organization.

India said that the attackers came from Pakistan, and their controllers were in Pakistan.

Pakistan has admitted that part of the conspiracy in the attacks was made on its soil.
