Thai anti-government protestors gather in front of the Government House in Bangkok, capital of Thailand, Feb. 26, 2009. Core leaders of the anti-government group announced to the protestors that they would stop the rally at the Government House on Friday morning. However, new rallies to topple the government are planned to be held one month later.[Xinhua]

Police and city officials have also already completed clearing the rally site in front of the Government House, the website said.

The anti-government protesters, or the red-shirted people, who had been led by the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship(UDD), started gathering on Tuesday morning at Sanam Luang in central Bangkok and later marched peacefully to the Government House and had remained there from Tuesday night.

Also, on Thursday night the UDD core leaders announced to the supporters they gave up their four political demands, which included dismissing Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya, prosecuting the People's Alliance for Democracy's leaders for shutting down two Bangkok airports late last year, reinstating the 1997 Constitution, and dissolving the House of Representatives.
