The Ministry of Finance has recently announced new directives to help promote Chinese made products among government departments.
The policy favors independently developed products made by Chinese companies, and special permits are required to purchase imported products. Government departments buying from foreign makers without approval will be fined 10 percent of the value of the goods purchased.
The government says it will nominate domestic research institutes and manufacturers to develop and produce new high tech products.
