Six Parties to Draft Common Document: Diplomatic Source
Adjust font size:

The six parties for the ongoing talks on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue will launch the process of drafting a common document on Saturday, a Japanese diplomatic source said in Beijing on Friday.

"Tomorrow, all the parties will start drafting process for a common document," said the Japanese official who declined to be named.

The six-party talks, which involves China, North Korea, the United States, South Korea, Russian and Japan, will "enter a new stage", he told a press conference after the fourth day of the new round of the talk, which started on Tuesday in Beijing.

The talks, including bilateral and multi-lateral meetings, help all the participants to understand each other's stance and coordinate each other, he said.

"We hope the document will reflect Japan's opinion, with nuclear issue as the core and other questions should be resolved in a comprehensive manner, in a bid to pave the way for normalizing relations between Japan and North Korea," he said.
