Bangkok Governor Sukhumbhand Paribatra said seven districts of northern Bangkok, namely Sai Mai and Bang Khen and eastern Bangkok namely Klong Samwa, Nong Chok, Min Buri and Lat Krabang could be flooded after some canals' sluice gates had been opened to let upstream waster pass.

Sukhumband said the residents of the districts should not panic but should move their items and power plugs to high grounds.

He said the city administration would evaluate the situation in 24 hours and would issue statements every three hours until the situation eases.

He added that the city administration has also drafted evacuation plan, which could be enforced immediately if needed.

A total of 317 people were dead and three people were missing in the floods that have inundated the upper part of the country for almost three months. The flood have affected about nine million people, mostly in the north and central provinces, while authorities are struggling to keep the capital safe.
