China, Vietnam Share Extensive Interests
Adjust font size:

China and Vietnam share extensive common interests in terms of developing economy and improving people's life, said top legislator Wu Bangguo in Beijing Tuesday.

"China-Vietnam neighborly friendship has stood the test of time and keeps making new progress," said Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC).

The two countries have chosen the development path suited to their own situations, uphold the leadership of the Communist Party of China and follow the socialist system, said Wu while meeting with vice-chairman Truong Quang Duoc of the National Assembly of Vietnam.

Under new international and regional circumstances, to develop China-Vietnam neighborly friendship complies with the interests of both countries and peoples, and benefits peace and development in the region and world, Wu added.

Truong Quang Duoc said Vietnam will learn from China's socialist construction, hoping the two countries could cement exchanges to promote economic and social development.

Truong Quang Duoc arrived here Monday on a seven-day official goodwill visit to China at the invitation of the NPC Standing Committee.
