Some places in China have set up their elite task forces to fight terrorism by land, air and sea.
In Shanghai, the most developed city in eastern China, the Armed Police Force's task force will be responsible for aviation security in the eastern part of the country, including Shanghai and the neighboring provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui.
The force will also guard against other terrorist activities by land and sea in Shanghai.
But the number of troops on the force and their equipment are not released for security reasons, the report said.
Liaoning Province in northeast China has set up similar forces, their average age at 20.
A special police team of 800 members in Xi'an, capital city of Shaanxi province in northwest China, has conducted a training exercise on terrorism Monday.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Security said they have urged local police bureaus to set up task forces to protect the nation's skies.
Meanwhile, the Shanghai-headquartered China Eastern Airlines will recruit 30 security guards to ensure order at Shanghai's two airports.
Shanghai is also tightening security at its railway stations.
