Wen Leaves for Tanzania

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao Thursday left Cape Town for Tanzania after two-day official visit to the Republic of South Africa.

 

Tanzania is the sixth leg of Wen's seven-nation African tour starting from June 17.

 

During his visit to South Africa, Wen Jiabao held talks with South African President Tbabo Mbeki and Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.

 

The two sides signed 13 agreements of cooperation covering a wide range fields from politics to economy, from agriculture to education.

 

Wen Jiabao and President Thabo Mbeki discussed and signed an agreement on "deepening the strategic partnership" between the two countries.

 

The Chinese premier also met political figures on bilateral and international issues and local entrepreneurs.

 

Wen made a keynote speech on relations between China and South Africa and African countries at forum on Sino-South African trade and investment at the end of his two-day stay in Cape Town.

 

The Chinese premier also extended invitation to the South African business people for the second China-Africa Business Conference due to be held in Beijing in several months.
