Ji Meixia is giving advice to performers about to take the stage.

Ji Meixia, a performer of Shandong Bangzi, a Chinese opera style prevalent in Shandong Province, leads her singing troupes to do tours throughout China's provinces, including Anhui, Henan and Shanxi.

Her flawless and delicate stage appearance, distinctive honeyed voice and vivid portrayal of characters have so far earned her a number of provincial and national awards.

Shandong Bangzi, a Chinese opera style prevalent in Shandong, was included on the national cultural heritage list in 2008.
