Myanmar is taking part in the 19th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival with one movie, sources with the movie circle said on Thursday.

The Myanmar movie, "Shade of Past" which is dubbed into English version, is being shown in the five-day Chinese film festival running from Oct. 12 to 16 in Jiangyin city of eastern China's province of Jiangsu.

The film featuring romance was shot with background of Switzerland's scenery.

Myanmar delegation taking part in the film festical is made up of the film's director and producer as well as an official of the state-run Myanmar Motion Picture Enterprise.

In 2007, Myanmar took part in a Chinese film festival with the film " Hexagon", while in 2009, the country joined the 18th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival with two Myanmar movies -- "Piece of String" and "Myaw Lint Chin Myar Swar" (Much Expectation).

The film "Hexagon" was among the 16 movies produced in 2005 and Kyi Soe Tun won the best director and scriptwriter awards with the film out of 11 film awards presented in 2006 for 2005 in Myanmar.

The "Myaw Lint Chin Myar Swar", which features education on HIV/ AIDS, had won four awards -- best film, best director, best editing and best supporting actor in domestic film academy awards for 2006.

In fact, three Myanmar films had earlier entered Chinese film festivals since 2001. "Master of Flowers" and "The Hearts of the Givers" took part in Yinchuan Film Festival 2004 and "Mystery of the Snow " in the Chinese Golden Rooster and Hundred Flower Film Festival in 2005.

The "Mystery of the Snow" received the best film award for 2004 in Myanmar.
