Judge issues arrest warrant for Lindsay Lohan

A judge on Tuesday issued a new arrest warrant for actress Lindsay Lohan for violating the terms of her probation following an emergency meeting with lawyers in her 2007 drunken driving case.

Judge Marsha Revel also set a new bail amount of $200,000 for the actress, a court spokesman said. It is likely that the arrest warrant will be withdrawn once Lohan or her representatives posts bail.

Judge Revel called the emergency meeting in her Beverly Hills court following reports, which were denied by Lohan, that her alcohol-monitoring bracelet was set off this past weekend.

Lohan, who was ordered by Revel two weeks ago to wear the SCRAM bracelet after missing a drunken driving probation hearing, tweeted on her account: "My scram wasn't set off-it's physically impossible considering I've nothing for it to go off-All of these false reports are absolutely wrong."

But early this week, reports citing unnamed sources surfaced on celebrity websites and in tabloids saying the actress was drinking alcohol after Sunday's MTV Movie Awards.

By Tuesday, those reports said her SCRAM bracelet sent out a notification to its monitoring company that Lohan had alcohol in her blood, and the company told the court.

Those reports could not be immediately confirmed, and the court spokesman said only that the arrest warrant "was precipitated by non-compliance" of terms of Lohan's probation.

In 2007, the 23-year-old was charged with reckless driving, drunken driving, and driving under the influence of cocaine. A judge gave her a sentence that included probation and mandatory attendance at alcohol education classes.

Last month, Lohan was due to appear in Judge Revel's courtroom for a hearing on her case, but she missed the date because she was at the Cannes film festival in France.

Judge Revel, who in October warned Lohan she risked going to jail unless she took the matter more seriously, issued an arrest warrant in May.

Days later, when Lohan returned from France claiming her passport had been stolen, Revel ordered her to undergo random drug and alcohol tests, and had her fitted with the SCRAM bracelet.

It is unclear exactly what the judge's punishment will be. Lohan is due back in court on July 6.

Lohan rose to fame in Disney movies such as "Freaky Friday" and as a teenager was considered one of Hollywood's best young actresses. But in recent years, her hard-partying ways have led to trouble and her career has stumbled.
