Dear Editor,

If I applied for a visa extension but it is denied. After my old visa expired, can I still leave China without a fine?

…………………………………………………………………………………………

Dear reader,

Normally if your extension application is denied you will receive a letter which will ask you to leave the country within ten days of your visa expiring. If you do not get the letter, you have to leave before the expiry date of your visa or you will be charged RMB500 for each day’s delay, according to Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau. You can also get more information on their website (http://www.bjgaj.gov.cn/eng/) or give a call (86-10-84020101).
