Chinese sharpshooters have won a silver and two bronze medals in the second day's competitions of the ISSF World Cup in Munich, Germany.

Chen Ying and Fei Fengji finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the women's 25m sport pistol event, while veteran Tan Zongliang won the other bronze for China in the men's 50m pistol event.

In the women's competition, all three markswomen reached the finals, a decisive show of China's strength in the field. 28-year-old Chen Ying won the silver, comfortably edging out teammate Fei Fengji, 23. Chen was only 0.5 behind the gold medal winner, Gundegmaa Otryad from Mongolia.

Another Chinese, Li Duihong, was placed seventh.

In the men's 50m pistol event, nine-time world cup medalist Tan cleared fourth place after the qualification round, moving ahead of fifth-placed Russian Vladimir Gontcharov and sixth-placed Kanstantin Lukashyk from Belarus. Lukashyk will attend the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 in the quota allocation for Belarus.

The gold medal went to Portugal's Joao Costa who gave an incredible performance. The runner-up in the qualifiers, Costa finally caught up to Vladimir Isakov, bridging the five-point advantage the Russian started off with in the finals.

Isakov had to settle for the silver.

Athens Olympic champion Zhu Qinan of China finished with a score of 701.1 to win the silver in the men's 10m air rifle the day before.
