Environment Improvement Urged
Adjust font size:

Nearly half of residents in Shanghai want the local natural environment to be improved while less than 20 percent are satisfied with the environment, according to a late survey on 321 people.

The survey, part of an environmental protection activity themed "Nature, City, Human", was jointly launched by S Strategies Shanghai Ltd. and Fudan University.

It indicates that local citizens, mostly around 23 years old, concern about the environmental problems.

Eighty percent of the respondents support the establishment of wetland reservation. Only 15 interviewees agreed to take full advantage of the land resource to develop estate.

While citizens stress the importance of wetland, few can locate the wetlands around the city.

Only 14 percent know about the wetland near the coastal Hangzhou Bay area and 7 percent are aware of the wetland to the south of the bay.
